Close to Nature.

Extra Comfy.

Super Stylish.

Playful & Fun.

Unforgettable, boutique AirBnb Accommodation near Coffs Harbour, Bellingin and Valla Beach - for work or play!

In 2016, we (Simon and Aurelie) purchased a 1977 Mercedes Bus.  We spent more than a year lovingly converting it from a School Bus / Tourist bus (used by a limousine company in Woolongong) into what is now much loved tourist accommodation, known as the “Lucky Duck Bus”. We're located in Valla (30 minutes south of Coffs Harbour and close to Bellingen), on 5 acres that includes a forest section, and just 4 minutes off the M1 and 6 minutes drive from Valla Beach.

The "Lucky Duck Bus” is a retro 70s, coastal-chic style bus (not too "tiny house") with some French touches. She is unique, highly functional, fun, secluded, romantic, quirky, memorable  and available as short term tourist accommodation via AirBnb. Star gazing from the king sized bed, an outdoor shower or bath overlooking the forest, watching some wallabies bouncing around, or viewing and hearing the abundant bird-life - are some of the things our guests tell us they love.  Oh, and the "disco dunny".... I ask you why shouldn't the toilet also be fun!? Check out guest reviews below!

Add to that the laid back local communities and truly stunning local environment (with the coastline "out the front" and the mountains "out the back", with uncrowded beaches, world heritage listed forests, water falls, markets, events, the local live music scene and more).... we invite you to come and experience the mid-north coast of NSW, an "Aussie paradise".

All I can say is book it baby if you want to go on a magical adventure that allows you to sleep in an old school bus the feels like a fairytale on the side of a forest but watch out for ticks if you decide to venture in the forest I couldn't resist, I slept like a baby under the stars and full moon :)

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the lucky duck. Perfect for a peaceful getaway that allowed me to get stuck into some creative work. The bus itself was an incredibly cool place to stay. Comfortable and cosy with everything you need. Definitely hope to be back one day soon! Thank you Simon and Aurelie!

We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay on the Lucky Duck bus. Full of charm and considered details. Great amenities, even toilet was enjoyable with the 70s disco music! Very comfortable bed, bus is surprisingly roomy. Fantastic WiFi and beautiful property. Simon was super friendly, delivering us fresh eggs from their hens for breakfast in the morning. We highly recommend this wonderful, quirky Lucky Duck bus if you're in Valla area.

I think this is it, I'm finalling updating my #1 AirBnB! Simon and Aurelie's Bus stay was an absolutely beautiful two days. they were amazingly helpful when checking in and out, aswell as anything I needed during my stay. The Bus was immaculately clean and missing nothing. the surrounding nature was just as lovely. I honestly couldn't say a bad thing about this place even if I tried. Perfect and would 100% recommend for a cosy, quiet night or two :)

"TheTrendSpotter" Says....

We concur, there are many great attractions in our local area!

A great selection of fun things to do around Valla and Bellengin  The Lucky Ducks Bus is halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, just 6 minutes from the beach, and still only 25 minutes from Bellingen. The area is a nature lover’s dream. Bellingen sits along the stunning Waterfall Way, which traverses five national parks, so there’s an abundance of waterfalls, bushwalking tracks, and animal spotting opportunities.

The Lucky Duck Bus Host's Say....

Check out these local tips....

Deep Creek and South Valla Beach - our spectacular, uncrowded local beaches are just 6 minutes drive from the Lucky Duck Bus. Grab a burger and home made chips from our favourite "locals" cafe Nourish, and then take a dip in "Deep Creek" as it runs into the ocean (from Valla Beach Road, turn right past the Beachhouse Providore Tip: they bake fresh loaves of bread on site!).

The Wharf St cafe in Nambucca Heads - unexpectedly, you can pick up some very good freshly made Macaroons. Your host Aurelie is French and even she says "as good as any in Paris". Tip: get there before they close at 2pm, and try the Lemon Myrtle Macaroons...... yum!

Surfing - when you are here, ask Simon for locals tips on the breaks that are from within just 6 minutes to 30 minutes drive.

Bonville Golf Club - It's an amazing public course nestled into the forest, so consider bringing your sticks! As they say - "acknowledged as one of the world’s most beautiful golf courses, consistently voted as the most beautiful in Australia & is the only 4 time winner of Australia’s Leading Golf Resort by the World Travel Awards (2006, 2011, 2012 & 2013)".
